Turner’s previously reported cartoon stream is now up and running. $4.99 per month (or less paid annually) will get you eventual access to the entire Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera catalogs.
Right now, there are a couple hundred Looney Tunes shorts conveniently broken up by character. You can browse through curated playlists of the best episodes featuring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, or whoever you’d like.
Also available on the service are a smattering of other Turner shows like Courage the Cowardly Dog, and a very small selection of movies.
The service is small but promises to grow each month. The playlists are promising and show that Turner has some talent picking out episodes and organizing them into themes. There are the obvious choices like “Best of Scooby-Doo!”, but also more creative lists like the superhero themed “My Hero” and “Top Dogs”, which mixes Scooby, Courage, and Spike from Tom & Jerry.
I’m hopeful that not only will the selection grow, but they’ll also include some “Behind the Scenes” stuff. Interviews and documentaries with the creators and, of course, the voice actors would be killer.
