Ever get so into a new video game that you want to be surrounded by it at all times?
World of Warcraft t-shirt? Call of Duty bumper sticker? Maybe even a Tri-force tattoo from The Legend of Zelda? Spaceballs: The Breakfast Cereal?
Bungie hears you, at least if Destiny is your jam. They just partnered with Razer to create a complete line of Destiny 2 themed computer peripherals.
The marketing for these things is pretty funny for its utter seriousness and conviction that they are the ultimate in interface design.
From Razer’s press materials:
- Razer DeathAdder Elite – The most accurate mouse ever created.
- Razer Ornata Chroma – A keyboard that combines the tactility of a mechanical keyboard with the comfort of membrane keys.
- Razer ManO’War Tournament Edition – A headset designed for ultimate comfort that is compatible with every gaming platform.
- Razer Goliathus Speed – The industry benchmark for soft gaming mouse mats.
Yes, it’s a precision engineered Destiny 2 mouse pad.
As for the game, Destiny 2 is the sequel to Bungie’s 2014 semi-MMO gear-hoarding shooter. Players return to their roles as Guardians wandering the Earth and neighboring planets centuries after humanity was nearly wiped out by a mysterious force called The Darkness.
This isn’t the first set of game-themed gear developed by Razer. They did something similar back in 2016 with an Overwatch style keyboard and mouse. This is the first time they’ve had four products in a game-specific line, though, with the addition of the headset.
When will it end?
Red Dead Redemption 2 power cable?
Splatoon 2 swivel chair?
Does anyone swap out all their gear with each new major game release?
Anyway, if all this speaks to you, then you can grab your Destiny 2 peripherals in September.
Coincidentally, that’s when Destiny 2 is set for release. It hits store shelves on September 8 for Xbox One, PlyaStation 4, and PC.
